Canada's immigration system is made up primarily of the Economic Classes and the Family Class. Within these, there are several Canadian immigration categories by which you and your family may be eligible to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents. The following is a summary of the various classes of immigration to Canada. RSS welcomes you to submit a free Canadian immigration assessment at any time.

- Skilled Worker
Canada's Skilled Worker immigration program is a point based system by which applicants earn a score on the basis of their qualifications in a number of defined factors. The passing score for a Federal Skilled Worker immigrant is presently 67 points.

- Business Class The Business Class immigration programs are intended for applicants who seek to qualify on the basis of their ownership or management of a qualified business or self-employed activity. These include the Investor Immigration Program, the Entrepreneur program, and the Self Employed program.

Immigrant Investor

The immigrant investor program is for business owners and managers who wish to undertake to invest with a government approved fund. The Investor and immediate will obtain Canadian permanent resident status and may then apply for citizenship in Canada. Successful applicants do not have any further obligations regarding work or business creation.

Immigrant Entrepreneur

The entrepreneur program is for business owners and managers who are seeking to create a Canadian business and employ Canadians. Successful applicants have a fixed time in which to satisfy Canada's immigration authorities regarding the creation of the business and sufficient Canadian employment.

Self-Employed

Canada's self-employed program is intended for cultural, athletic, and farming business-persons who can demonstrate that they can support themselves and their families on the basis of income generated from their activities.

- Family Class Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eligible to sponsor close family members. This immigration process comprises two steps, the assessment of the sponsor inland and the assessment of the applicant abroad. In some cases, the assessment of the applicant can also occur inland, if the candidate is already in the country.
